Lattakia, SANA – The commander of internal security in Lattakia province, Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Hilal al-Ahmad, announced Thursday the implementation of a special security operation that resulted in the arrest of Major General Pilot Riad Abdullah Youssef.
Brigadier General Al-Ahmad confirmed that investigations proved Youssef’s involvement in supervising a number of air sorties during which massacres were committed against unarmed civilians, noting that he held advanced military positions until he assumed command of the Al-Dumayr military airport.
Al-Ahmad said that the security operation was carried out in cooperation between the relevant security units and the Anti-Terrorism Branch in the province.
