Civil Defense: immediate release of the head of the Emergency Response Center in Sweida

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Civil Defense Organization reiterated its demand for the immediate release of Hamza Al-Amarin, the head of the Emergency Response Center who went missing in Sweida on Wednesday 16th of July while he was on his way to evacuate UN’s mission.

The organization stressed in a statement om Sunday that “such acts against humanitarian workers poses a serious violation, and would make it difficult to assist civilians in Sweida, who are in dire need, and prevent the provision of humanitarian and life-saving services.”

The organization reiterated its full commitment to neutrality and impartiality in providing its services to all Syrians, stressing the importance of respecting humanitarian work and ensuring the safety of all humanitarian workers, medics and responders, so that the emergency response to distress calls can continue and basic services can be provided to hundreds of thousands of civilians.
