Damascus, SANA-Emergency and Disaster Management Ministry said Sunday that firefighting teams, in coordination with civil defense units and forestry brigades, have extinguished five wildfires in Latakia and Hama countryside.
Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh said in a post on the X platform that fires had broken out in recent days in al-Haffeh, Jabal al-Turkman, al-Qardaha, Jableh–Kalmakho, Kasab, and the al-Ghab Plain.
He added that efforts are continuing to fully extinguish remaining hotspots and to prevent the fires from re-igniting.
