Homs, SANA – Civil defense teams in Homs Governorate have fully brought under control a large fire that erupted between the towns of Marmarita and Kafra in the western countryside, after it consumed wide areas of olive groves and forest lands in Wadi al-Nadara.
Rabie Jundia, Director of Emergency and Disaster Management in Homs, stated that firefighting units responded immediately upon receiving the alert, managing to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further before fully extinguishing it.
He noted that teams have now entered the cooling phase and are monitoring remaining hotspots to ensure the fire does not reignite. Civil defense crews will also continue on-ground surveillance in the coming hours while providing support to affected residents.
