Ankara, SANA- Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that stability in Syria benefits its neighbors and countries of the region, praising the European Union and United States’ decision to lift sanctions on Syria.
“We are very pleased with the European countries’ decision to lift sanctions on Syria following US President Donald Trump’s statements, which marked a turning point,” Anadolu Agency quoted Erdogan as saying in a televised address following the weekly government meeting in Ankara today.
He added, “Achieving stability and peace in Syria will benefit all its neighbors and countries in the region.”
Erdogan noted that Syrian Airlines will soon begin flights to Turkey, and that Turkish carrier Anadolu Jet will also operate regular flights to Syria.
