Libya welcomes announcement of lifting sanctions on Syria

Tripoli, SANA-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Libyan National Unity Government has welcomed the announcement of lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria.

In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the ministry said that this step represents a significant shift toward reintegrating Syria into its regional and international surroundings.

The ministry described the decision as “a beacon of hope toward ending the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people, paving the way for national recovery efforts, reconstruction, strengthening Syria’s unity and sovereignty, and restoring its natural and active role in the Arab region and on the international stage.”

The statement affirmed Libya’s full support for all efforts that contribute to Syria’s stability and prosperity, in line with the principles of fraternal relations between the two countries and Libya’s steadfast commitment to supporting peaceful solutions and constructive cooperation between states and peoples.
