Presidential decision to form an independent national committee to investigate the events of the Syrian Coast

Damascus, SANA-The Presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic announced today the formation of an independent national committee to investigate and find the facts in the events of the Syrian coast, to submit its report to the Presidency within a maximum period of 30 days.

“Based on the requirements of the supreme national interest, and in commitment to achieving civil peace and revealing the truth, the President of the Republic decided to form an independent national committee to investigate and find the facts in the events of the Syrian coast that occurred on 3-6-2025, consisting of judges: Jumaa Dabis Al-Anzi, Khaled Adwan al-Helou, Ali al-Naasan, Alaa al-Din Youssef Latif, Hanadi Abu Arab, Brigadier General Awad Ahmed Al-Ali, and lawyer Yasser al-Farhan.” the presidential decision published by the Presidency of the Republic today on its Telegram channel stated.

The decision stipulated that the committee be entrusted with the tasks of revealing the causes, circumstances and conditions that led to these events, investigating the violations that civilians were subjected to, identifying those responsible for them, investigating the attacks on public institutions, security personnel and the army, identifying those responsible for them, and referring those proven to be involved in committing crimes and violations to the judiciary.

The presidential decision requested all relevant government agencies to cooperate with the committee as necessary to accomplish its tasks, and the decision granted the committee the right to seek assistance from whomever it deems appropriate to perform its tasks, provided that it submits its report to the Presidency of the Republic within a maximum period of 30 days from the date of issuance of this decision.
