Canadian Prime Minister congratulates Syrian President on assuming presidency of the Republic

Damascus, SANA- President Ahmad al-Sharaa received a Congratulatory call from the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, with the latter underlining Canada’s support to the Syrian people to achieve progress and stability across their country.

Canada’s Trudeau attached great importance to lifting sanctions on Syria, announcing that he will send a special envoy in the context of offering aid to the Syrians.

President al-Sharaa, in turn, welcomed the Canadian Prime minister, voicing his gratitude to Canada for hosting the Syrian refugees there.

President al-sharaa also underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral diplomatic ties and strengthening cooperation in a way that bolster stability and security of the two peoples.
