King Abdullah II of Jordan and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, stressed today the importance of reaching political solutions to the crises facing the region with the aim of restoring its security and stability.

According to Petra News Agency, King Abdullah and the Emir of Qatar underlined during talks held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the need to support Syria and Lebanon in “preserving their security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity”, while emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation with them in various fields.

The two leaders expressed keenness to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment sectors, and to maintain close coordination in a way that serves the interests of both countries and the causes of the Arab nation.

King Abdullah renewed Jordan’s condemnation of the Israeli aggression against Qatar, affirming his country’s solidarity with it and continued coordination with friendly states to safeguard the sovereignty of nations against any violation.

For his part, Sheikh Tamim affirmed that Qatar will take all necessary measures to protect its security and preserve its sovereignty.

The Emir of Qatar concluded an official visit to Jordan, during which he held bilateral and expanded talks with King Abdullah at Basman Palace in Amman.
