Chelsea secures spot in Club World Cup semi-finals at Palmeiras' expense

Washington,SANA-Chelsea secured a place in the Club World Cup semi-finals after defeating Brazilian side Palmeiras 2-1 in the quarter-final at Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania, USA.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer scored his first goal in the Club World Cup in the 16th minute, but the game was leveled when Estêvao Willian executed a stunning shot in the 53rd minute. Chelsea snatched the lead with a last-gasp goal in the 83rd minute, after goalkeeper Weverton failed to hold a cross, which strangely went into his own net.
