Damascus, July 22 (SANA) Al-Ahli Aleppo secured a place in the final of the 2025–2026 Syrian Men’s Basketball League after defeating hosts Homs Al-Fidaa 78-74 in the fourth game of the Final Four semifinal series, played on Tuesday at Ghazwan Abu Zeid Hall in Homs.
The victory gave al-Ahli Aleppo a 3-1 series win, sending the team through to the championship final, where it will face Al-Wahda, which advanced after eliminating al-Nawair in the other semifinal.
Homs al-Fidaa led 42-37 at halftime after controlling much of the opening half, but al-Ahli Aleppo mounted a strong comeback after the break. The visitors overturned the deficit through disciplined defense, efficient finishing inside the paint, and standout performances from their foreign professionals to seal a hard-fought victory and book their place in the final.
The championship series will mark a rematch of last season’s final, when Al-Wahda claimed the league title by defeating Al-Ahli Aleppo. Al-Ahli will be aiming to reclaim the championship, while Al-Wahda will seek to retain the title for a second consecutive season.
