Washington, July.7 (SANA) Argentina came from behind to defeat Egypt 3-2, with Enzo Fernández scoring deep into stoppage time to send the South Americans into the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals.
Egypt led through Yasser Ibrahim before Mostafa Ziko added a second-half goal. Argentina responded with strikes from Cristian Romero and Lionel Messi before Fernández netted the winner in the third minute of added time.
Earlier, Egypt goalkeeper Mostafa Shobier saved a Messi penalty and made several key stops to keep his side in front for much of the match. Argentina will now await their opponents in the quarter-finals.
