Damascus, April 10 (SANA) With the participation of 500 cyclists, Barada Sports Club, under the supervision of the Directorate of Sports and Youth and in coordination with the “Ammrha” volunteer initiative, organized a cycling event under the slogan “Ride for your health” to mark World Health Day.
The ride started from the club’s headquarters and passed through several streets of the capital, including al-Shahbandar Street, al-Jisr al-Abyad, al-Talyani area, al-Najmeh Square, Freedom Bridge, al-Baramkeh, Umayyad Square and Victoria area.

Board member of Barada Sports Club Abdul Latif Samaan told SANA that the event aims to promote daily physical activity as a key component of a healthy lifestyle, noting that cycling reflects the importance of exercise in improving public health amid growing need for more active living.

He added that such activities encourage participation across all age groups and help highlight the landmarks of Damascus in a positive and engaging way.
World Health Day is observed annually on April 7, marking the founding of the World Health Organization, and aims to raise awareness of global health issues and encourage actions to improve public health. This year’s theme calls for supporting science to protect the health of people, animals, plants and the planet.
