Homs, April 3 (SANA) Mahardah defeated al-Karama 27–20 on Thursday in the opening round of the al-Amal Women’s Handball League, in a match played at Ghazwan Abu Zaid Hall in Homs.
The Syrian Arab Handball Federation is organizing the tournament in a group-stage format, with clubs from across the country taking part.
Teams have been split into two groups, with northern group matches held in Homs and southern group fixtures taking place in Damascus. The competition is scheduled to run through April 6.
The al-Amal League is part of the federation’s annual program aimed at identifying and developing young talent, with a view to preparing players for national teams across different age categories.
