Spanish coach to lead Syria’s youth team at West Asia Championship

Spanish coach to lead Syria’s youth team at West Asia Championship

Damascus, Feb. 25 (SANA) Syria has appointed Spanish coach Arno Buitenweg as head coach of its youth national football team ahead of next month’s West Asia Championship in Kuwait.

The Syrian Arab Football Association said he will oversee preparations for the regional tournament.

Buitenweg previously managed clubs in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar and worked with Qatar’s youth national side. He also won last season’s Canadian Premier League title with Forge FC.
