Damascus, Syria, Feb. 5 (SANA) The Republic Kickboxing Championship kicked off Thursday at Al-Jalaa Sports City in Damascus, southern Syria, featuring K-1 and Full Contact styles across youth, women and men categories.
According to the approved competition schedule, preliminary bouts for the Round of 16 and Round of 18 began on the opening day, with strong competition and an enthusiastic atmosphere among participants.
The two-day tournament brings together a select group of elite kickboxing athletes as part of a national effort to identify promising talents ahead of upcoming Arab and international championships.
The championship is set to conclude Friday, with around 300 male and female athletes representing 24 clubs from various Syrian governorates competing in the event.
