Rabat, Dec. 24 (SANA) Nigeria opened their Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 campaign with a 2–1 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday, taking early control of Group C.
Semi Ajayi gave Nigeria the lead in the 36th minute, before Tanzania responded after the break through Charles M’Mombwa in the 50th. The Super Eagles quickly restored their advantage just two minutes later, when Ademola Lookman struck a powerful shot past goalkeeper Foba to seal the win.
The result puts Nigeria top of Group C, which also features Tunisia and Uganda.
