Doha, Dec.4 ( SANA) The Syrian men’s national football team drew 1–1 with its Qatari counterpart in the match held Thursday in the Qatari capital Doha, as part of the second round of Group A in the Arab Cup.
Qatar scored through its player Ahmad Alaa at 77th minute, but Syria managed to draw with a brilliant strike from striker Omar Khribin in the 89th minute.
With this result, Syria reached four points and is in second place with the Palestinian team which leads on goal difference, while Tunisia and Qatar occupy third and fourth place with one point each.
On Sunday, the third‑round matches will be held, with Syria facing Palestine, while Qatar will meet Tunisia in the other match.
