Syria’s national athletics team raised its medal tally to7 at the end of the second day of the West Asian Youth Championship, held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
In the 800-meter race, athlete Naya Abbas claimed the gold medal, while her teammate Sarah Deeb secured another gold in the 5000-meter race.
The athlete Rayan Hassan won the silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles, and Atheer Al-Balkhi earned silver one in the javelin throw.
Earlier, Julia Amon took gold in the 5000-meter race walk, while Farah Mohammad won silver in the same event.
The Syrian team had opened its participation in the championship yesterday with a silver medal won by Zainab Al-Youssef in the 400-meter hurdles.
