Damascus, Aug. 26 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa held a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, ways to further develop them and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
President Putin affirmed Russia’s support for Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reiterated Russia’s rejection of Israeli attacks and violations of Syrian sovereignty.
The call also addressed the latest developments in the region. The two presidents stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultations and strengthening communication between Syria and Russia in a manner that serves their mutual interests and supports security and stability in Syria and the region.
