President al-Sharaa: Priority today is for maintaining civil peace, building state institutions

Damascus, SANA- Activities of the conference announcing the victory of the Syrian Revolution started on Wednesday in the presence of the factions of the Military Operations Command and the forces of the Syrian Revolution.

President Ahmad al-Sharaa delivered a speech congratulating the Syrian people on this victory.

He said “A few months ago, Damascus appeared as a devoted mother gazing at her children pleading yet reproachful complaining of wounds, humiliation, and disgrace—bleeding yet enduring the pain, on the verge of collapse, as if crying out, “Save your nation!”

“We broke the chains by the grace of God, the oppressed were freed, and we shook off the dust of humiliation and disgrace .The sun of Syria shone once again, and it was a clear conquest and a great victory,” he added.

Al-Sharaa noted that victory is, in itself, a duty, for the task of the victors is heavy, and their responsibility is great.

He explained that war is known for military battles, destruction, devastation, and bloodshed. However, adding that Syria’s victory was achieved with mercy, justice, and benevolence.

President al-Sharaa went on to say that Syria is more in need now than ever before. Just as we were determined in the past to liberate it, it is now our duty to be just as determined to rebuild and develop it.

He outlined Syria’s priorities today as filling the power vacuum, maintaining civil peace, building state institutions, developing an economic and developmental infrastructure, and restoring Syria’s international and regional standing.
