Damascus, Oct. 30 (SANA) Residents of Damascus’ Jobar neighborhood held a rally on Friday in solidarity with the people of Daraa and Quneitra, protesting continued Israeli occupation aggressions on southern Syria.
The gathering, held under the slogan “Our People in Daraa and Quneitra Are Not Alone,” drew large crowds from Jobar and neighboring areas, SANA reporters said.
Participants expressed solidarity with residents of the two southern governorates amid repeated Israeli incursions and attacks on Syrian territory.
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, detentions, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria has repeatedly demanded the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, stressing that measures imposed by Israel are null and void and have no legal effect under international law.
Damascus has also urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and press Israel to withdraw fully from southern Syria.
