Idlib, Oct 6 (SANA) Idlib Governor Mohammad Abdulrahman discussed with Turkish officials ways to facilitate the movement of travelers and goods through the Bab al-Hawa crossing and Cilvegözü Border Gate during a visit to Türkiye’s Hatay province on Monday.
During a meeting with Hatay Deputy Governor and Cilvegözü Border Gate Director Alp Aran Yılmaz, Abdulrahman discussed strengthening communication and coordination and improving the flow of travelers and goods through the two crossings in a way that serves mutual interests.
Abdulrahman also met with Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı at the Government Complex in Antakya to discuss developing partnerships, launching joint initiatives and exchanging expertise in local administration, municipal affairs and public services.
The meeting also addressed Hatay’s experience in reconstruction and recovery following the earthquake, particularly in providing housing for those affected and displaced and rehabilitating infrastructure.
The two sides discussed cooperation in environment, energy, health, trade and industry to support economic activity between the two sides.
During a field tour of Antakya, Abdulrahman and his delegation reviewed historic landmarks and plans to preserve the city’s architectural and heritage identity. The tour included the historic Parliament building, Atatürk and Independence streets, and the historic Habib al-Najjar Mosque and its social facilities.
The visit is part of efforts to strengthen joint service and economic relations, support infrastructure and economic activity between the two countries, and launch development initiatives.
