Damascus sends condolences to Ankara over Yalova ISIS clashes

Damascus, Dec. 29 (SANA)
The Syrian Ministry of Interior expressed its deep condolences and sympathy to the Republic of Türkiye following the killing of three Turkish police officers during clashes with the ISIS terrorist organization in Yalova, which also resulted in the killing of six ISIS members, according to Turkish officials.

In a statement, the ministry extended its condolences to the Turkish Interior Ministry and to the families of the fallen officers and the wounded, stressing that the group’s criminal actions underscore the danger it poses to the stability of countries across the region.

The Syrian Interior Ministry emphasized the need to continue uprooting terrorist organizations in all their forms and highlighted the importance of enhancing regional and international coordination to combat terrorism, in a way that protects civilians and reinforces security and stability.

Earlier at dawn on Monday, Turkish security forces carried out an operation against ISIS in Yalova province. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said the operation “resulted in the killing of six ISIS members, the martyrdom of three police officers, and the injury of eight others during clashes with the organization.”
