Damascus, Sept. 14 (SANA) Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Jake McGee in Damascus on Monday for talks on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding partnership between Syria and the United States.
The two officials discussed ways to deepen cooperation between the two countries and reviewed the latest regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The talks also focused on prospects for broadening the Syrian-U.S. partnership and developing cooperation in areas of shared interest.
McGee’s meeting with al-Shaibani comes during a visit to Damascus by a U.S. economic delegation for talks with Syrian officials aimed at exploring investment opportunities and strengthening economic and business ties.
