Damascus, Aug. 17 (SANA) Syria’s Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi discussed, during a phone call on Sunday, bilateral coordination and the latest regional developments.
The two ministers reviewed the work of the Higher Coordination Council between Syria and Jordan and stressed the importance of maintaining consultations and coordination between the two countries.
They also discussed regional developments and reaffirmed support for efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability in the region.
The talks follow the second session of the Syria-Jordan Higher Coordination Council, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on April 12. The meeting was chaired by al-Shaibani and Safadi and brought together 30 ministers from the two countries.
The Higher Coordination Council was established in May 2025 as an institutional framework for Syrian-Jordanian cooperation, aimed at coordinating policies and strengthening integration across various sectors.
