Abu Dhabi, July 13 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates on Sunday expressed solidarity with Syria and extended its condolences following the deadly ferry accident in the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor province that left three people dead and others missing.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the country extends its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the Syrian government and people, over the tragedy, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The ministry also expressed hope that ongoing search and rescue operations would successfully locate those still missing.
The Syrian Civil Defense announced that three people were killed early Sunday after a ferry collided with a temporary floating military bridge in Deir Ezzor city, causing passengers to fall into the Euphrates River.
