Damascus, Apr.21 (SANA) Syria has “strongly condemned a terrorist plot” that sought to undermine the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates, reaffirming its full solidarity with the Gulf state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it “expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist plot and affirms its full solidarity with the UAE in all measures it takes to confront such terrorist threats and to safeguard its security and the safety of its citizens and residents”.

The ministry further stressed its “categorial rejection of all forms of terrorism and extremism”, as well as “its support for all efforts aimed at safeguarding the security, stability, and safety of Arab states”.

Earlier, the UAE State Security Service announced that it had thwarted a terrorist cell linked to Iran that was planning to destabilize the country.
