Riyadh, Apr. 8 (SANA) Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, began an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. The visit aims to cement bilateral cooperation in emergency response, disaster management, and the exchange of technical expertise between the two nations.
Following a high-level meeting in Riyadh, Minister al-Saleh announced via “X” that he held productive talks with the Saudi Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef Al Saud. The discussions focused on enhancing coordination to protect lives, elevating national readiness levels, and ensuring effective responses to regional crises.
Minister al-Saleh expressed his profound gratitude for the warm reception and the high level of interest shown by the Saudi Minister of Interior. He noted that this cooperation reflects the “depth of relations” between Syria and Saudi Arabia and underscores a mutual commitment to developing these ties across various strategic sectors.
The meeting was attended by a robust diplomatic and technical delegation from both sides.
The partnership centers on several key pillars designed to modernize disaster response in the region including developing joint strategies for protection against natural and industrial risks, utilizing advanced digital tools and early-warning systems for disaster monitoring, and launching exchange programs for specialists and joint training exercises for first responders.
