Damascus, April 2 (SANA) United Nations development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Alexander De Croo said on Thursday that Post-war Syria can be a success story if “we stand with its people.”
“It’s time for the international community to scale up development support — so hospitals can be rebuilt, schools can reopen and Syrians can return safely home,” De Croo twitted on X.
He added that the Syrians deserve recovery that is visible and fast; water, electricity, housing, schools, clinics.
“Restoring these basics is what gives families strength and hope to return home and rebuild their lives,” he added.
President Ahmad al-Sharaa today received UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher and UNDP Administrator Alexander De Croo in Damascus to discuss boosting coordination on humanitarian issues.
