Washington, Feb.14 (SANA)-U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed on Saturday that President Ahmad al-Sharaa is doing a great job for the Syrian people and is working to unify the country.
“The President of Syria is doing a very good job, working to unify the country, and we are satisfied with the work he is doing, as he is doing a great job for the Syrian people.” Trump told reporters last night, in response to a question about the situation in Syria.
On Dec. 27th, President al-Sharaa received a lengthy phone call from President Trump, during which they exchanged views on developments related to Syria’s transitional phase, efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability, as well as prospects for bilateral cooperation in a way that serves regional and international stability.
President Al-Sharaa affirmed Syria’s full commitment to its territorial integrity and national sovereignty, and the state’s keenness to preserve its institutions and promote civil peace.
