Riyadh, Jan. 30 (SANA) Saudi Arabia welcomed on Friday the ceasefire and full integration agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), describing it as a positive step toward peace, stability, and national unity in Syria.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the Kingdom hopes the comprehensive accord including the integration of autonomous administration institutions into Syrian state institutions will support Syria’s path toward security and stability and meet the aspirations of the Syrian people.

The ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full support for all efforts by the Syrian government to preserve the country’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The statement also praised the cooperation of both the Syrian government and the SDF with Saudi and U.S. efforts to reach the agreement and stabilize the ceasefire.

The announcement follows a Syrian government statement earlier on Friday confirming that it had agreed with the SDF to implement a ceasefire as part of the broader accord, which includes a phased plan to integrate military and administrative forces.
