Doha calls for supporting Syria to overcome current stage, move toward reconstruction

Davos, Jan.20 (SANA) Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, affirmed that the Syrian government is working under difficult circumstances and needs support, noting that regional countries and the international community are seeking to help it reach stability and reconstruction.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum of Davos, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman-also Qatari Foreign Minister-said that the conditions in Syria over the past fifteen years have left deep impacts on the state and its institutions.

He emphasized that rebuilding institutions after such a complex phase is a hard task that requires broad support and international cooperation.

Sheikh Mohammad pointed out that the challenges facing Syria remain significant, yet the diversity of its social fabric, which has extended over centuries, constitutes one of Syria’s strengths and a symbol of its unity.

Al Thani added that everyone looks forward to seeing a stable Syria, stressing that the responsibility of the region and the international community is to support Syrians in rebuilding their state and institutions.
