Cairo, Jan. 19 (SANA) Egypt’s Foreign Ministry on Monday welcomed a ceasefire deal in Syria and the full integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into state institutions, calling it a step toward preserving Syria’s unity and stability.

In a statement, the ministry said Egypt reaffirmed its position on maintaining Syria’s territorial integrity and supporting state institutions in protecting stability, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and ensuring the country’s resources are preserved.

It also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and creating conditions for recovery and reconstruction.

The ceasefire agreement was signed on Sunday by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and has drawn wide Arab and international support.
