Lisbon, Jan.5 (SANA) Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, said Monday that stability in Syria is a fundamental element for the stability of the entire region.
“A stable and effective Syria is not only a condition for regional peace, but also a necessity to support social and economic recovery and to reduce irregular migration—results that directly serve Europe’s interests.” Anadolu Agency quoted Fidan as saying at a press conference organized by the Portuguese Foreign Ministry in Lisbon.
The Turkish Foreign Minister stressed earlier that a stable Syria, free from external interventions, would be a major gain for the region, noting that Ankara will continue to support the Syrian people.
