Safe corridor prepared for SDF departure from Sheikh Maqsoud; civilians to return soon

Damascus, Jan 9 (SANA) A government source told SANA that the Internal Security Forces, in coordination with the Operations Authority of the Syrian Arab Army, are preparing to open a safe corridor for the leaving of SDF organization members from Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood to northeastern Syria.

The source assured residents of Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafieh, and Bani Zeid neighborhoods that life will return to normal once mine-clearing operations are completed and the area is fully secured.

The Syrian Arab Army has worked over the past days to minimize risks during the military operation in order to protect civilians, and now calls on residents to prepare to return to their homes after the completion of demining and securing the neighborhoods, the source added.

The source confirmed that buses designated to transport members of SDF organization have already begun entering Sheikh Maqsoud, in preparation for their transportation to northeastern Syria under the supervision of the Syrian Arab Army to ensure safe passage.
