Doha, Dec. 14 (SANA) Qatar has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted a joint Syrian-U.S. military patrol near the city of Palmyra, Homs countryside.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm stance against violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, regardless of their motives or causes.
The ministry also expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the governments and peoples of both the United States and the Syrian Arab Republic, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
On Saturday, Syrian and U.S. forces came under fire from a gunman near Palmyra while conducting a joint patrol, resulting in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter, and injuries to three U.S. soldiers and two Syrian security personnel.
