Washington, Dec. 14 (SANA) U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted a joint Syrian–U.S. security patrol near the city of Palmyra.
In a post on the X platform, Wilson said: “We condemn this cowardly attack on U.S. and Syrian forces trying to restore peace after decades of brutality.” He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, adding: “We mourn our service members and thank them for their sacrifice. Those who stand in the way of peace will be defeated.”
On Saturday, Syrian forces and U.S. forces came under fire from a gunman near Palmyra while conducting a joint patrol, resulting in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter, and injuries to three U.S. soldiers and two Syrian security personnel.
