Damascus, Dec. 8 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa and government ministers attended a military parade on Monday to celebrate Liberation Day. The event, organized by the Ministry of Defense along Mezzeh Highway, began at Mezzeh Airport, passed through Umayyad Square, and concluded at Customs Square.
Various units of the Ministry of Defense participated, showcasing the Syrian Arab Army’s readiness to defend the unity and sovereignty of the country.
The parade featured army helicopters flying over Damascus, dropping flowers and paper cuttings with patriotic slogans. Fourteen glider pilots performed aerial displays over Umayyad Square in coordination with the parade.
Thousands of citizens gathered to watch, waving Syrian flags and chanting in celebration of Liberation Day.
