Doha, Dec.6 (SANA)Under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and with the participation of President Ahmad al-Sharaa, along with a number of heads and representatives of states, regional and international organizations, the 23rd edition of the Doha Forum kicked off Saturday in the Qatari capital, under the slogan: “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.”
“The Syrian people, after harsh years marked by the absence of justice, are moving towards a path they hope will lead them to recovery within a framework of transitional justice that strengthens cohesion and rejects sectarianism,” Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani said in an opening speech.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman added that this path paves the way toward a peace that turns the page of the past and is based on participation and justice.
“This year’s forum is held under the title-Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress- a title that reflects a truth we all recognize that the gap between rhetoric and practice is widening, and that justice has, in many cases, become absent from the course of international law, in a world where interests prevail over principles and law is replaced by force,” he added.
