Damascus, Sept. 30 (SANA) One person was killed and 13 others injured in 12 road accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Civil Defense said Wednesday.
The Civil Defense, affiliated with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, said on its Telegram channel that its teams provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals for necessary treatment. Teams also cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas.
The Civil Defense renewed its call for drivers to reduce speed, check the technical condition of their vehicles, including brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions while driving, particularly the use of mobile phones.

Civil Defense teams also responded to 45 fires involving homes, commercial properties, grass, trees, garbage and electrical wiring. The fires were extinguished and the sites cooled and secured, with only material damage reported.
The Civil Defense urged people not to light fires in forests or agricultural fields and not to discard cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, particularly near crops and wooded areas. It also advised residents not to burn dry grass around homes or along roads and to remove it safely instead.
On Monday, 13 people were injured in 19 road accidents across Syria, according to the Civil Defense.
