Washington, SANA – Democratic US Senator Elizabeth Warren described the decision to ease export controls to Syria—announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce last Thursday—as an important move for the country’s reconstruction and for strengthening the United States’ role in Syria’s and the region’s recovery process.
In a statement quoted by the American news site Semafor, Warren said: “This step is important because it will help American companies, NGOs, and partners contribute to Syria’s reconstruction and enhance America’s role in shaping the recovery of the country and the region.”
