Washington, SANA-Republican U.S. Representative Joe Wilson stressed Wednesday the importance of preserving Syria’s unity, warning that any attempt to divide it would destabilize the region.
Wilson said on x platform that “When then Senator Joe Biden proposed his plan to divide Iraq into three countries two decades ago, I opposed it.”
“Today the same idea is being proposed for Syria which will only create instability that will ripple across the region in Turkey, Jordan, Iraq and Israel”, Wilson added.
He concluded that “A united stable and inclusive Syria is the only option”, to guarantee security and stability in the region.
