Beirut, Sept. 17 (SANA) Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes and Israeli forces conducted explosions and artillery fire across several areas of southern Lebanon late Wednesday, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.
NNA said Israeli aircraft launched two waves of strikes shortly after 11 p.m. on Mansouri, south of the coastal city of Tyre. Israeli forces conducted explosions in the same town that caused strong tremors in nearby villages.
The agency reported another explosion in the Wadi Mazlam area of Beit Lif in Bint Jbeil district and an explosion in Kfar Tebnit.
In the Nabatieh area, NNA said a large blast was heard after Israeli forces conducted three rounds of explosions in Zawtar al-Sharqiya.
Israeli forces opened heavy machine-gun fire on the outskirts of Hadatha as the town came under heavy artillery shelling.
The incidents come as Lebanon and Israel continue a U.S.-facilitated negotiating process following the signing of a trilateral framework agreement in Washington on June 26 aimed at ending their conflict and restoring Lebanese sovereignty over its territory.
Israeli airstrikes and other military operations in southern Lebanon have continued during the negotiating process.
