Aden, Sept. 8 (SANA) Two children were killed and 15 others injured after Houthi militia fired projectiles at a gathering of displaced people in Yemen’s central Marib province, the country’s official news agency reported.
Yemen’s Saba News Agency cited the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Marib as saying the attack struck Raghwan district in northern Marib on Monday, causing extensive damage to shelters and property.
Around 16 shelters were completely destroyed, leaving 23 families without accommodation and basic belongings, according to the unit.
Separately, more than 23 Houthi militia members were killed and dozens injured during a large-scale military operation by Yemeni armed forces in al-Bayda province on Monday, Saba reported.
Citing field sources, the agency said the Giants Brigades seized strategic positions and areas previously held by the militia following clashes that forced Houthi fighters to retreat.
Yemeni forces spokesman Colonel Majed al-Nazili said military units were continuing to advance on the al-Jawf and al-Bayda fronts as part of operations aimed at restoring state institutions and ending Houthi militia control.
