Manama/Kuwait City, July 20 (SANA) Kuwait‘s military said on Monday that its air defense systems were intercepting Iranian drone attacks targeting the country, while neighboring Bahrain activated air raid sirens nationwide in response to hostile aerial threats.

The Kuwaiti military said in a statement posted on X that explosions heard across parts of the country were the result of air defense systems intercepting hostile drones. It urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.

Kuwait said on Sunday that its air defenses had also intercepted hostile ballistic missiles and drones within the country’s airspace.

In Bahrain, the Interior Ministry said air raid sirens were activated across the kingdom early Monday, urging citizens and residents to remain calm, seek the nearest safe shelter and follow official updates and instructions.

The General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force said on Saturday that its air defense systems had intercepted several Iranian aerial attacks, accusing Tehran of continuing strikes targeting civilians in the kingdom in violation of international law.

The developments come as Gulf Arab states and Jordan continue to face repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks following the resumption of military exchanges between the United States and Iran.
