74 Arab and foreign media teams cover Syria’s first liberation anniversary

Damascus, Dec. 12 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Information announced Friday that 74 media teams from 24 Arab and foreign countries arrived in Syria last week to cover nationwide events marking the first anniversary of Liberation Day.

In a statement, the ministry said the 116 visiting journalists represented outlets from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, including France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Slovakia, Turkey, the United States, Canada, Brazil, and several Arab countries.

Large Syrian crowds gathered across cities and towns on December 8 to commemorate the anniversary, taking part in public celebrations and cultural events. The day has become a symbolic milestone for many Syrians, reflecting hopes for greater stability and national renewal.

The celebrations received widespread media coverage, with reports highlighting Syrians’ expressions of optimism as the country seeks broader diplomatic engagement following years of isolation.
