Aleppo, Dec. 11 (SANA) The internal security forces in al-Bab, a city in northern Syria, have arrested two individuals for displaying symbols associated with the country’s former regime during official Liberation Day celebrations.
The men shared images of the symbols on their mobile phones via social media in a provocative act aimed at the public and an attempt to promote the ideology of the fallen regime, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry confirmed that legal action was immediately taken against the individuals, and their case has been referred to the judiciary for further proceedings.
The Ministry also warned that any attempts to revive symbols of the former regime or promote its ideas, whether digitally or in public spaces, would face legal consequences.
December 8 marked the first anniversary of the country’s Liberation Day, commemorating the end of the regime that ruled Syria for over five decades, during which it was responsible for numerous crimes and abuses against the Syrian people.
