Damascus, Dec. 9 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al-Saleh held talks Tuesday with Enshrah Ahmed, the UN Population Fund’s representative in Syria, on expanding cooperation in emergency response and updating the country’s risk-assessment matrix.
The ministry said both sides underscored the need for sustained coordination among their teams to improve the effectiveness of response operations and strengthen support for communities affected by crises. They noted that enhanced cooperation would help reinforce the capacity of national institutions to meet humanitarian and emergency needs.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of increasing women’s participation in emergency-response efforts through ministry-led training programs and field-preparedness camps.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Syrian government and UNFPA to developing a more integrated and coherent risk-management system aimed at protecting lives and delivering timely assistance to vulnerable areas.
