Information minister meets journalists in Damascus on public services

Minister of information Hamza al-Mustafa met Thursday with a group of journalists in Damascus to discuss public service issues affecting citizens’ daily lives, as part of regular consultative meetings organized by the ministry.

During the session, Minister al-Mustafa presented the government’s vision for the coming stage, emphasizing that current policies seek to improve service delivery, institutional performance, and overall efficiency in vital sectors to achieve sustainable development.

He said the government’s approach is founded on sound economic and technical studies and supported by integrated, participatory policymaking. He noted that state institutions continue to build infrastructure and provide essential services, while the private sector and citizens contribute in a balanced, well-regulated manner to sustain operations and ensure equitable access.

Al-Mustafa added that policies related to price regulation, tariffs, and subsidy rationalization are designed to achieve financial sustainability while enhancing the quality of public services nationwide, with targeted support for low-income and vulnerable groups.

The minister affirmed that these collective efforts strengthen the foundations of balanced growth, reinforce citizens’ trust in state institutions, and enable Syria to move forward in implementing its comprehensive development vision aimed at fairness, efficiency, and long-term stability.
